India Inks And How I've Fallen In Love
So a while back when I was determined to figure out watercolors despite previous failed (horrendous) attempts at the media. I came across a couple youtube videos where people used india inks to paint their flash/paintings instead of watercolors. I didn't know much about them at the time and while I was busy buying some watercolor color pencils I went ahead and bought a Dr. Ph. Martin's Bombay India Inks set of 7 inks; a mouthful I know. Anyway, when my order came in I immediately took to the watercolor pencils. It seemed like the solution to all the troubles I had with watercolors in the pans or straight out of the tubes. I could just color n
Wings...Are Apparently Not Easy.
For someone who calls herself Wings, I really suck at drawing them. It's sort of sad, really. I've been working on my new Skullflower Designs logo for a couple weeks now and very, very little progress has been made. And I haven't drawn, or colored, or painted ANYTHING else! I'm a little creatively blocked at the moment. I'm pretty close to throwing my pencils and artwork out the window! ARGH! *sigh* I'm a little stressed out right now if you can't tell. And stress has never really made a very good bedfellow for art and I. Since I finally got a good deal of my back pay I was considering buying myself some art supplies I've been gawking at for
Life Sucks, More Internet, Please?
I've been away for a little while I know. Those comments and watches have just been piling up while I was gone. I almost don't want to go through them all but I hate having a ungodly number of DA messages up there. Sorry for being gone everyone. But life has been just a little bit hectic. I'm in the processing of leaving one military job, transferring into another military job, and looking for a civilian job and the search just isn't going well. That's what happens when you live in a small town with a base connected to it. Way more people looking than there are jobs available.
A good thing about not working so much though is that I have been
I HAVE A LIGHT BOX! (And a wonderful husband)
So lately I've found that tracing my sketches onto another sheet of paper to ink and then color has been a tad bit difficult. I can never quite see the lines and it often causes me to mess up my lineart. So I looked into buying one and the price range for a nice one the size I need was a little disheartening. I don't have the money to spend on that right now. So after I looked up some DIY ones (and realized I don't have the skill to do that) I turned to my husband (who once did woodworking for a living) and I wasn't disappointed. My wonderful husband just spent the last couple hours MAKING me my very own light box! It's sitting on the kitchen
