My Bio
I have always loved to draw and I've been doing so since I could hold a crayon. It's always been on of my favorite hobbys. I have always drawn on everything, notes, my arms, my friends, etc. Only recently I have decided to be more serious about my art. I try to draw a little every day or every other day. And although life and work especially, seem to have other ideas for me, I have been improving.

I mostly draw tattoo designs. I have always been fascinated by tattoos even though I did not have any of my own until well into my twenties (one of which I drew myself). I've always drawn temporary ones on myself and my friends. And over the years many people have told me I should be a tattoo artist. I've finally taken the hint. So although I don't actually tattoo, (I have looked into tattoo apprenticeships and that's something I'd love to do) I can at least design them; and I do.

To build my art portfolio and continue to improve my work I current spend a good deal of time on createmytattoo.com where I can browse tattoo design contests and I enter them all the time. I've actually won a couple, much to my surprise. In addition to CMT, I also do tattoos for friends and family as well as myself.

As far as the tools I use, when I design I mostly use basic pencil and paper to sketch out the designs and ink and art markers to color. I don't have a specific art marker brand that I'm partial to. I have Prismacolors, Dick Blick Brand Studio Markers, and a mix of Copic Sketch, Originals, and Ciaos. There's also probably a Letraset Promarker or two in there as well. I find that each brand has its own pros and cons so I won't ever argue that one single brand is the way to go. I like them all.

Anyway, if you like what you see around here stop in and say 'Hi' or give me a fave or a watch. If you would like to talk to me about designing a tattoo, send me a note and I'll let you know my availability and we'll see what we can come up with.

So a while back when I was determined to figure out watercolors despite previous failed (horrendous) attempts at the media. I came across a couple youtube videos where people used india inks to paint their flash/paintings instead of watercolors. I didn't know much about them at the time and while I was busy buying some watercolor color pencils I went ahead and bought a Dr. Ph. Martin's Bombay India Inks set of 7 inks; a mouthful I know. Anyway, when my order came in I immediately took to the watercolor pencils. It seemed like the solution to all the troubles I had with watercolors in the pans or straight out of the tubes. I could just color n

For someone who calls herself Wings, I really suck at drawing them. It's sort of sad, really. I've been working on my new Skullflower Designs logo for a couple weeks now and very, very little progress has been made. And I haven't drawn, or colored, or painted ANYTHING else! I'm a little creatively blocked at the moment. I'm pretty close to throwing my pencils and artwork out the window! ARGH! *sigh* I'm a little stressed out right now if you can't tell. And stress has never really made a very good bedfellow for art and I. Since I finally got a good deal of my back pay I was considering buying myself some art supplies I've been gawking at for
